Novena of Masses for Deceased Relatives and Friends
A novena of Masses will be celebrated for deceased relatives and friends - the Holy Souls List - during November.  Please write names on a piece of paper and enclose in an envelope marked ‘Holy Souls November List’ with your donation and hand in as soon as possible.

Novena for Forgiveness
Sunday evening at 5.00 pm at Christ the King.

The Friday Club - Youth Group
Young people of the parish of secondary school age are invited to ‘The Friday Club’ on Friday 18th November in St. Margaret Mary Parish Community Centre.  The evening begins at 7.30 pm until 9.00 pm.  Cost £2.

Festival Choir
The choir will be meeting on Sunday's from 7.00 pm, beginning on Sunday 30th October, at Christ the King. We would welcome more people to join us as we get ready for Advent and Christmas.  Why not come along on the 30th and see what goes on? 

St. Margaret Mary SVP Food Distribution
Tinned meats and fruit are especially welcome. It is hoped to distribute parcels the week beginning 12th December so please check 'best before' dates.

Pax et Bonum Prayer Group
On Friday evenings between 5.00 and 7.30 pm a Polish prayer group gather at Christ the King church.  Prayer for adults in the church and children in the parish room.

Attendance and Figures
70 + 79 + 92 = 241 were at Mass last weekend.  Thank you for your offering of £433.70 + £237.20  = £670.90.

Carlisle Walsingham Pilgrimage 2017
Each year since 1954 members of parishes in Carlisle and district have joined together and gone on pilgrimage to the National shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, in Norfolk. The cost of £250 includes accommodation, most meals, tips and coach travel. Children's Liturgy at St. Margaret Mary
Children's Liturgy are in need of six new Angel costumes for our Christmas celebrations.
If anyone has any sewing skills and spare time, please see a member of the children's liturgy team to discuss. 

Deanery Mass for Deceased Clergy
This year, St Augustine’s is hosting this Mass on Tuesday 15 November at 11.00 am. All parishioners are warmly invited – indeed encouraged! – to attend.  There will be no Mass in the parish that day - please do attend.

Sacrament of the Sick
Please request the sacrament of the sick in good time for loved ones who are sick.  We have had a number of people pass away without there being recourse to a priest.  A priest is always willing to attend no matter what time of day or night to someone who requires this sacrament and to grant absolution.  Please contact Fr. Michael directly rather than via the sisters.

Building and Maintenance Fund
Please be kind enough to contribute each month using the envelopes provided.  Thank you for your generous donations for the month of October - from Christ the King £6,797.03 and St. Margaret Mary £160.  The total for this fund so far is £7,715.37.

Life — Local Centre Now Open
The centre will be open second Monday of each month, commencing 14 November, from 12 noon - 2.00 pm at Waterton Hall, Warwick Square. Professionals such as doctors, nurses, midwives, carers and teachers could also benefit from the extensive support available and will be very welcome.

Vino et Veritas
Come and learn more about your faith over a glass of wine [non-alcoholic beverages will also be available].  Wednesday evening catechesis at Christ the King next meets on Wednesday 16th November at 7.30 pm.  The topic for this part of the year is ‘What’s the Mass really about?’  All are welcome to come along. 

Readers’ Workshop
Fr John Millar will lead a workshop for Readers on Saturday 3 December at Waterton Hall OL&SJ from 11.00 am - 2.30 pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please take a packed lunch.  All readers in the parish are encouraged to go along.

SVP Mass for Deceased Members
This will be held at Our Lady & St. Joseph, Warwick Square on Thursday 24th November at 6.00 pm. All are welcome to come along.

Fire & Light

Christmas Flower Demonstration in Aid of Mary’s Meals
John Dalton will give a flower demonstration on Thursday 1 December from 7.00 - 9.00 pm in St Augustine’s church social room, Waverley Road CA3 9JU. Tickets £5 to include a glass of wine or juice. All proceeds to Mary’s Meals. See the poster. Tickets on sale from Sarah Hinde: 016977-42650.

24th December - Vigil Mass at St. Margaret Mary at 6.30 pm [Carol Singing from 6.00 pm], Mass during the Night at Christ the King at 10.00 pm [with Carols from 9.30 pm].  25th December - Mass on Christmas Morning at 10.00 am at Christ the King.

As the Year of Mercy comes to a close - please think about going to Confession. Frequent confession is good for you…and the world.
