Pilgrimage to Rome 2020
Booking forms are now available for the Pilgrimage to Rome from 11th - 18th May 2020. Unfortunately the cost has risen from the original quotation.  The previous quote had not taken into account a higher price for airfares, which are significantly higher than previously expected.  Also, the hotel we had intended to use is no longer available and a better hotel has been secured. It may be possible to reduce the duration of the pilgrimage to reduce costs.  Please collect a booking form from Fr Michael.  Please submit booking forms to Tangney as soon as you are able.

Thank You
Thanks to all who attended the Mass on Friday evening as we celebrated our Patronal Feast Day.  Particular thanks to Veronica and the team at the Parish Centre for the wonderful spread.

Sacred Heart ‘Caritas’

The parish ‘Caritas Group’ began life on Tuesday evening.  This group was founded with the aim of providing lunch for children in the area who would otherwise go hungry during school half-term holidays. It will launch during the October half-term. This is an important work of charity; of feeding the hungry in our local community and an ideal way to put faith in action.  If you would like to be involved in this, either through practical help on the days or to help organise, please sign up on the sign up sheets at the back of church.

Sacred Heart Missio

The parish ‘Missio Group’ began life on Tuesday evening.  This group was founded with the aim of promoting the project of ‘New Evangelisation’, of making Jesus known and loved in the parish and wider community. It will launch in September, in collaboration with the Cor et Lumen Christi community, with a presentation of the Alpha Course.  The Alpha Course helps us to grasp more fully the heart of faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God. This is important work for the parish and our local community, a real spiritual work of mercy. If you would like to be involved in this project, please see Fr Michael.
