Clergy Changes in Carlisle
The Bishop has announced in his Pastoral Letter to the parishes of Carlisle:
Fr Jim Allen is moving to the parishes of Freckleton & Warton. Fr Geoffrey Steel is moving to Garstang. Their last weekend in Carlisle is 28-29 September.
Fr Michael Docherty will move to a parish closer to Lancaster after Easter, and will be replaced.
From October to Easter, Fr Paul Harrison will live at St Bede’s rectory, assisting Fr Chris Loughran and Fr Frank Osman in the care of the three parishes: Our Lady of Eden, Cumbrian Martyrs and St Augustine of Hippo. Fr Chris will have oversight of the three parishes; Fr Frank will serve as chaplain to the hospital.
Please give your priests all your support and encouragement during this time of transition, not least with your prayers.

Weekday Mass Times
This week marks the beginning of the new academic year and as promised, an additional workload for Fr Michael in terms of his diocesan responsibilities. To enable him to celebrate Mass prior to leaving for vicariate work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Fr Michael will celebrate Mass at 7.30 am at St. Margaret Mary. For the next few weeks, there will be no Mass on a Monday - this will resume in October when Fr Michael will take Saturday as his ‘rest day’. Fr Norman has kindly agreed to celebrate the 10.00 am Mass on Wednesday and Thursday when he can - please support these Masses: the old phrase ‘use it or lose it’ applies here.
