Solemnity of the Assumption

Decluttering at St. Margaret Mary
There’s a vast accumulation of ‘stuff’ at St. Margaret Mary, particularly in the tower and choir loft.  A skip will be arriving on Friday and decluttering will begin from Monday 5th August.  If you have any personal items on the premises, please remove them by Monday 5th August. I ask groups such as the Ladies Group, Piety, Rosary and Children’s Liturgy to clearly label items they wish to retain. If any volunteers wish to assist with the clean up, please let yourselves be known.

New Car Park
A new car park for the school, on land behind the Parish Centre, and fencing for the school field [due to safeguarding regulations] is planned.  More details will follow when they are available. Funding for the project comes through LCVAP [a fund for capital projects for Voluntary Aided Schools] not the parish.

Thank You
St Margaret Mary SVP would like to thank everyone involved with the recent distribution of food parcels to local families in need. Thank you for your donations of food or cash and a special thank you to those involved making up and delivering the parcels. Your continued generosity is very much appreciated.

Sacred Heart ‘Caritas’
This group was founded with the aim of providing lunch for children in the area who would otherwise go hungry during school half-term holidays. It will launch during the October half-term. The next planning  meeting will be on 6th August in the Parish Centre after the evening Mass.

August Arrangements for Holy Communion
During the month of August, due to holiday absences etc, Holy Communion will be distributed under one kind, the Sacred Host.  Any parishioners who are celiacs and only receive Holy Communion under the form of the Precious Blood should have a word with Fr. Michael.
It is timely to reaffirm our belief in the Catholic doctrine of ‘Concomitance’. The doctrine states that since Christ is indivisible, no one part of Christ's substance can be divided. Thus, Christ's sacred body cannot be separated from his sacred blood, which means that Christ's full presence is in each Eucharistic species fully. When we receive the Sacred Host - we receive His body, blood, soul and divinity.  When we receive the Precious Blood - we receive His body, blood, soul and divinity.

Hospital

Just a reminder that the Catholic Chaplaincy Team at the Cumberland Infirmary do not receive official notification of the presence of Catholic patients.  Families must let Fr Michael and/or Fr Frank at Warwick Square know if someone is in hospital and in need of a visit.   Holy Communion is taken regularly to patients who are known to the Chaplaincy team.
