November, the Month of the Holy Souls, will soon be upon us. A Novena of Masses will be celebrated for those on the November List. Please use envelopes available in both churches to add deceased relatives, friends and loved ones to this Novena in November. Hand envelopes into
Fr Michael or place on offertory plate.

Figures for Last Weekend
There were 72 + 110 + 182 at Mass last weekend. Thank you for your offering of £289.87 + £271.44 = £561.31.
Just a reminder that the Catholic Chaplaincy Team at the Cumberland Infirmary do not receive official notification of the presence of Catholic patients. Families must let Fr Frank at Warwick Square  know if someone is in hospital and in need of a visit. Holy Communion is taken regularly to patients who are known to the Chaplaincy team.
The Festival Choir will begin meeting again on Sunday 13th October from 7.00-8.30 pm at Christ The King. We would welcome any new members; young people from Y5 onwards would be especially welcome.
New Car Park
Work has commenced on the new car park for St. Margaret Mary School.
A day for young and young at heart Catholics aged 14+ in preparation for Advent. This will take place on Saturday 30th November at Corpus Christi Catholic High School Preston. The day starts at 10.00 am and ends with a Vigil Mass for the First Sunday of Advent at 5.00 pm. Tickets for school groups are £5 per person and adults £8.00. Dementia - A Shared Experience
Cumbria Partnership NHS Trust runs a session each first Friday of the month when you are invited to share your experience and ideas so as to influence how your local NHS delivers its memory service. This is open to those who experience memory loss and their carers. It takes place between 1.00–3.00pm at Harraby Community Centre. There is free parking and refreshments
First Holy Communion 2020
This is planned for Sunday 19th April 2020 [the Second Sunday of Easter]. Preparation will commence after Christmas. Families are expected to attend Sunday Mass each week in the first instance.

Carpet at St. Margaret Mary
Thank you to all who helped lift the carpet last Sunday. You will notice the glue which is still in place and some general untidiness…please be patient with the ‘work in progress’.

Once again, we will be collecting goods for food parcels before the end of term and delivering them to local families in need. Tinned fruit and meat are especially welcome as well as toiletries. Please check best before dates on all contributions. We aim to get parcels out a little earlier than usual and so will be starting deliveries in the week beginning 2nd December. The annual Mass for Deceased Clergy will be celebrated at Our Lady & St. Joseph at 10.00 am on Tuesday 19th November. Come and pray for the priest who baptised you, the priest from whose hands you received our Blessed Lord, the priest who married you, the priest who forgave you…pray for priests, pray for vocations to the priesthood.
